So you're in the market for a collector car? If you're into this hobby as hardcore as most of us are, there's rarely a time when we are not looking for our next car!

With the accessibility of data these days, whether it be from auction results, price guides or from our good friend Bob (everyone knows a Bob...he's the buddy that knows everything about cars, right down to the factory color code numbers offered on every Chevrolet built from 1937-1978), there's no big secret on values anymore. We all know these cars are valuable, and we all know about what something is worth.

Sure, there's ups and downs in the market, just like there is in every market, but if you are a "omigosh, the sky is falling and all collector cars will be worth 10% of what they were last year in 6 months" type, or, if you are a "holy moley, a Chevelle just like this one brought $3 million at Barrett Jackson last year, so I am going to buy one just like it, and it will be worth $5 million next year," you probably aren't our ideal customer.

Our ideal customer is a car guy that wants an honestly described, top notch car, that performs as well as it looks. He doesn't want to spend a year looking for the right car, he doesn't want to spend a year fixing all of the problems that came with the car after he bought it, and he doesn't want to spend five years regretting the decision he made to buy the car in the first place. In short, our ideal customer is someone who wants a first class car and a first class buying experience. That's what Best of Show has to offer, and that's what keeps most of our customers coming back for their 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th car (the record right now is 7). When you look at our inventory, keep a few things in mind:
  1. You don't see all of the cars we didn't buy. We spend $10-15K per month looking at cars we pass on. Bondo buggies, mispresented vehicles, fake vehicles, restamped vehicles, poorly restored vehicles. You name it... we see them all. Our staff has some very experienced guys who have been around cars their entire lives. And, while we aren't perfect, we are VERY picky. The cars you see in our inventory are the cream of the crop of the thousands of cars we look at weekly.
  2. Each of these cars has been thoroughly gone through by a team of guys who are probably overqualified for the work they perform. In fact, the only reason I am able to keep them around is they get to place with an endless stream of really cool cars. Unlike many of the classic car "dealers" out there, we aren't simply buying something at an auction, having it delivered to a warehouse, and reselling the car without even driving it.
  3. Each of these cars has been gone over by a master body & paint guy. Our cars are cosmetically top-notch, and we rarely get them in that condition.
